Closing COVID-19 Practices and Protocols 

Sellers

E-Close: We strongly encourage all sellers to take advantage of our e-closing option. Because of recent changes to the law, sellers of properties located in Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland (principle residences) can now close from the safety and comfort of their laptop (with camera) or smart phone (with camera).  The settlement will occur through our partner Notarize.com.  The interface is very intuitive and user-friendly and we are offering it at no additional cost to you.

Our Office: We understand that not everyone will be able to do an e-closing and we will still be conducting closings at our office.  See our full safety protocols for an in-person office closing below.

 

Buyers/Refinance Borrowers

  1. Our Office:  The majority of our team is working from home.  Our team members in the office are following the CDC’s best practices: wearing masks at all times, maintaining a physical distance of six feet throughout your closing, wiping down all surfaces where your closing will occur before and after your closing, washing our hands and using hand-sanitizer before and after your closing and using new pens at your closing that you will take home.  As always, your documents will be provided to you as a searchable PDF through our secure portal at the completion of the closing.

  2. From Home: Lenders currently are not allowing e-notarization so we can arrange a trusted third-party mobile notary to come to your home to limit your exposure free of charge to you.

  3. Cash Buyers, E-Close: As there are no lender documents, cash buyers may also e-close in all three jurisdictions and we encourage you to do so.

 

Real Estate Agents & Lenders

Real Estate Agents and Loan Officers are welcome at the settlements, however, please verify with your client their preference.

E-Closings: The title attorney will send out the closing documents through our secure portal and will review them prior to the e-closing over a conference call with you and your client.  Your client will then log-in to Notarize.com to e-notarize their documents directly with the e-notary.

Our Office: When visiting our office, we kindly ask that you take all necessary precautions & practice “everyday preventative actions,” as recommended by the CDC.
